Creators and founders Miko and Titi Branch found inspiration for their hair care line from their paternal grandmother, the original Miss Jessie. Following in the matriarch’s footsteps and creating products they couldn’t find in stores, Miko and Titi Branch took the curly haired beauty product world by storm in 2004. The launch of their product Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding saw runaway success. The product won many awards including Allure’s prestigious Best of Beauty Award in 2009. The curly haired duo, with the inspiration of the original and talented Miss Jessie sought to create an entire range of products.
Heavy-hitters for the line include Curly Meringue, Curly Buttercreme, and Baby Buttercreme moisturizing products. Creator, Miko, shares that the products are not race-based but rather texture-based and therefore individuals of every race and nationality can use Miss Jessie’s products. The brand’s incredible Crème de la Crème product has won the 2009 Redbook MVP Award, and the products continue to sell out at locations due to their incredible performance and word of mouth. They have been featured in numerous popular publications including O, The Oprah Magazine, Allure, Essence, Lucky, Marie Claire, WWD and Elle, in addition to appearing on NBC’s The Today Show.
